Hey guys! I’m back for another review, still lipstick huh? Well I will be reviewing some of my foundations and/or bb creams I have on my stash soon. I asked on my fanpage if some of you are interested, me making a review about them.
So okay, today is just another lipstick review. This one is very popular, I’ve been waiting for this new product from MUA last January 2014, I think? I ordered these babies for the past months, together with other MUA products, and other bloggers made a pre-order as well. Each tube costs, $5 each or 3 pounds. Very affordable! And yes, this is a dupe for Limecrime Velvetines, can’t imagine buying that product, gladly MUA made a dupe product. So yeah, I really don’t like, buying lipstick around ($13) 500+ pesos above, that’s why I haven’t tried any Mac lipsticks up to now, but hopefully when I get a nice job with higher pay lol!
Swatches of the 3 shades I’ve got, they have 5 shades before, didn’t get the Kooky, and Criminal. Kooky is a plum color, which I’m dying to get now lol, why would I didn’t get that in the first place?! And Criminal is just the same color of Funk, but the lightest one. As of now, they’ve added 4 new shades, which are nude ones! Thinking of getting Halcyon or A Flush lol.
Make Up Academy (MUA) Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless
I was afraid to try red lipstick before because I’m afraid that I can’t pull it off. But I noticed that, I become more matured looking when wearing the red ones, what do you think? And oh, my boyfriend doesn’t like me wearing dark red lippies haha! But this one passed! 😛
- Long lasting!
- Great packaging
- Very pigmented
- No smell? I mean it does have a smell, but I think its not disturbing just a normal scent of a lipstick
- Affordable! $5 each!
- 8 shades available from Nude to Pink, Red – Plum
- It transfer! Specially if you eat oily foods!
- Doesn’t like the texture upon applying, it’s very thick!
- When you apply lip balm, the lipstick transfer, when you smack your lips
- Not available locally
Here’s an example photo, I made an experiment since, I’m wondering why is it like that when I smack my lips the lipstick goes down to my lower lip lol. So, I tried not to apply a lip balm, and voila! The lipstick stays put on its place. So the tip is, this is not like the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams, that you have to apply lip balms first, so it won’t dry your lips. Well this MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer, doesn’t need that anymore, the finish is still the same.
So I think that’s it, if you think I missed anything on this review, kindly comment down below, so I can answer your questions about this product. 🙂 Don’t forget to rate this post!
